Emporium Hotel South Bank, Brisbane, Queensland
In 2019 and 2020, the Emporium Hotel in South Bank, Brisbane was awarded the title of Australia’s best boutique hotel in the World Travel Awards Oceania. The hotel has stunning rooms and a spectacular infinity pool and bar on level 23 overlooking the Brisbane River, South Bank Parklands and CBD.
Project Design Brief
During the build of the hotel, designers were directed by the client to include retail space on the ground floor. A compact drainage channel system was required to fit in the screed beneath the tiles and have multiple outlets to provide effective drainage. Pedestrian safety was also imperative, with a particular focus on wheelchair access and slip resistant floor and drainage materials.
